Well there I go. I think i cannot meet those system demands so count me out. Ill keep on going in wow for a bit. level all my characters to 80 with full professions.

Open beta is up, and I've found the NPC that lets you create fleets. Apparently you need a full group of 5 to do it. I hope we can get that many online at one time or another... No need to do it before live though, since the fleets will probably be wiped with along with the characters after Open beta.

Time is always stacked against me as well but if this turns out to be a good one I'll try to find the time. It's the end of my studies now, as soon as I find a company to do my last bit of education I'll have more time hopefully. At least at weekends

Open beta ends tonight, and Star Trek Online launches next week, with head start beginning this week-end. I'll be away on a ski trip, and though I'll bring my lap top, most likely I won't have time to get started before monday. I'll keep the Blackstar Channel open when I'm online if anyone want's to get in touch.
If anyone else is in from the start, it would be great if we could gather at Earth Space Dock and set up a fleet.

No need to secure names. Only account login names and account display names are unique. The only limitation (except for violations) to ship names is that one character can't have two ships with the same name.
I have created my main "Kyj" Kyjnohr (Vulcan Science officer), but haven't been home and awake more then a few hours since the beginning of head start, so he's not out of the tutorial yet. I'll be making my alts "Rob" Robert MacLeary, Human engineering officer, "Mac" Makohrnix, Alien Tactical officer.
You probably only need my account display name, knix (or @knix) to find me though.

Well, I finally got time to play for more then an hour yesterday
I'm out of the tutorial atleast. I won't be home tonight, so I probably won't have the chance to play, and tomorrow is Random Racing in WoW, so I'll be playing STO again friday night. If anyone else is playing, i think the easiest way to find each other is to join the public channel I have created for us, called Blackstar.

Of course my STO time can possibly be cut short by Cryptic...
I have an account now, but first want to play it for a while before I decide to subscribe or not.
However, unlike CO, there does not seem to be an option when adding my retail key to "just play for the 30 days I already paid for" without setting up a subscription.
I will not get a CC and a timecard is non-refundable so that's a no-go too until I am sure I LIKE the damned game.
Between this and Champions Online Cryptic is really, REALLY trying to get on my shitlist, but hey- why would they care
Just saying: Chances are my wow-time will not diminish because Cryptic won't let me in Yes, it's become a matter of principle now
