Well, one month has passed since launch, and I'm only Lt Cmdr. Luckily I'm in for the long run, and it's nice to be able to take your time. Still waiting to get a fleet going though. Isn't anyone else interested in getting the fleet set up at least, and setting a date to get it done?

tried and died
Well then, I got a buddy account key of Czar and I really tried to make it work. I got to see the intro movie... CRASH... I got to see the character making... CRASH... I got to make my own lovely looking big boobed woman... CRASHED.. After that I pretty much gave up hope for playing Star trek online.
So the only possibillity remains to actually get myself a new computer that actually can handle that kind of workload or I need to visit Czar every weekend and kick him away from his computer (which probably will result in a wrestling match that i cannot possibly hope to win)

Too bad. It shouldn't crash. I ran Champions Online (built on the same engine as STO) on my old P4 2.4 GHz ATI Radeon 9800 Pro computer. It's way under spec, but it didn't crash. It just didn't put out more then 3 or 4 frames per second. Perhaps you're having a driver issue or something.
EDIT: Maybe I should try running STO on it, just for laughs

I'll be getting a new PC within the next month or so, then I'll start playing. My current one just cant handle it well enough to make it playable.
